R & D Investment And Jiangsu Technology Innovation Strategies Of Research

With the development of R&D globalization, more and more Multinational Corporations(MNCs) have come to China and carried out R&D-oriented investment. In this process, Jiangsu has become one of the most important destinations of MNCs' R&D institution because of its good economic development. Starting from the background of MNCs' R&D investment in China and understanding their motives and regional distribution, this paper takes 185 Multinational Corporations confirmed by Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province as research object and comprehensively analyzes the characteristics of the R&D-oriented investment in Jiangsu, the favorable factors attracting foreign R&D as well as the limiting factors restricting their development in Jiangsu. And then, on the basis of knowing the channels and mechanism of MNCs' R&D investment's influence on host country's technology innovation, it empirically analyzes the impact of MNCs' R&D investment on technology innovation in Jiangsu with panel data, and concludes that:the spillover effects of MNCs' R&D-oriented investment in Jiangsu is not obvious. But the effect of R&D staff on technology innovation is greater than R&D expenditure, and the increase in product market share of foreign enterprises (competition effect) significantly promotes the technology innovation capability of Jiangsu enterprises. So in the long run it is beneficial to the improvement of local enterprises' technology innovation in Jiangsu. Finally, from how to effectively attract MNCs' R&D investment, promote the technology spillover effect of foreign R&D as well as actively implement the "Going out" strategy these three aspects, it pertinently puts forward countermeasures of enhancing technology innovation capability of Jiangsu.
