Macau Casino Gambling Money Flow Analysis Based On The Virtual Economy Perspective

The wave of "gambling explosion" began to sweep across the world and the development of gambling began to take on a globalization trend in the late 1980s. Macau's gambling industry developed rapidly in the 21C, and today it's the biggest gambling city in the world. However, the rapid development of Macau's gambling industry under the globalization background also brings out a series of problems to the development of Macau itself as well as to the Mainland China, which is given more and more attention by the world. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the prominent problems that the development of Macau's gambling industry faces and the difficulties that China government encounters in Macau's gambling-industry development on the basis of the comprehensive and systematic research of the gambling-capital flow in the Macau gambling industry, and then to put forward suggestions to the development of Macau's gambling industry.This paper begins with introducing various research results of the gambling industry, especially of the Macau's gambling industry by reviewing some previous economic studies of the gambling industry and the specific studies on the Macau's gambling industry. Based on the previous research results made by other researchers, this paper, by taking the flow of gambling capital as the clue, is to analyze the source markets, the mechanism of the gambling-capital absorption and the profit distribution, etc in the Macau's gambling industry from the perspective of the visual economy and by making use of the basic theory and method of the fictitious economy.Research indicates that the Mainland China is the most important source market of Macau's gambling industry, contributing to 93% of the source market and to 78.62% of the revenue; MSAR and its gambling investors are the biggest beneficiaries of the Macau gambling industry, while the Mainland China is the victim whose benefit suffers injury; Macau becomes the global financial battlefield where MSAR, the US-lead foreign gambling companies and the Mainland China are competing another, centering on the China gambling capital. The facts also prove that the source markets which are decisive of Macau gambling industry revenue are the Mainland China, Taiwan, the Americas and the Europe in rank.At last, on the basis of borrowing ideas from research results by other researchers and of my own particular research results, this paper is to present suggestions to the development of Macau gambling industry. It's advised that Macau gambling industry should be positioned exactly from three aspects: Macau itself, the whole China and the whole world, setting the goals of becoming the world's biggest gambling center and foreign capitals & customers gaining majority. And the best methods to accomplish the goals are: break through the vase neck of Macau's narrow gambling development space, establish HengQin Gambling Tourism Trial Area, and develop gambling industry with Macau jointly.
