Gold has the dual properties of the currency and commodities. After a number of developments in the global financial system the gold has weakened the currency attribute, and has basically failed as a direct purchase and means of payment, but in the world economy and in real life, it is still more than any notes being a reserve store of value means. Gold in ensuring national economic security, national defense, security and guard against financial risk is anything that can not be replaced. China's gold market is undergoing changes, it will achieve the majority of transactions from the financial transactions of goods dominated the majority of transactions from cash to derivatives-based changes. Gold industry as the gold market supply unit, in the gold market plays an important role.Gold industry is engaged in gold production industry, including gold exploration, mining, ore dressing, smelting and processing. At present, China has become the gold industry, including mining, smelting, construction, engineering design, research and other departments constitute the integrity of the industrial system. China's current gold market has more than 200 million employees, of which:production of gold, including gold exploration, mining, refining, research, management personnel 300000-40 million; gold product design, production, sales and other field practitioners personnel to reach 1.5 million-170 million; gold investment market, including brokerage, analysis, and supervision for the 300000-50 million employees. The rapid development of China's gold industry, from 1949 production of 4.073 tons of gold, to 282.007 tons in 2008, China has become the No.1 gold producer, the world's second gold jewelry consumer and investment products, the world's fifth gold consumer in the world. At present, China's gold market has basically formed the Shanghai Gold Exchange, based on gold spot trading, the Shanghai Futures Exchange, gold futures trading and commercial banking business the common prosperity and development of gold pattern.
