Aim:Through the observation in the treatment of oral liquid with and without Schizonepeta tenuifolia and Saposhnikovia divaricata for ulcerative colitis, it can be determined the synergism of Schizonepeta tenuifolia and Saposhnikovia divaricata for the treatment in ulcerative colitis.Method:The cases were 84 diagnosed patients with ulcerative colitis (2009-2011 in our hospital), there are 39 men and 45 women, and the range of age is 17-69. We divided into 2 groups according to the order of the patients the experimental group and the matched group, and there is not statistic difference between the two groups in age, gender, course of disease, state of illness, lesions range, syndrome types of TCM, grading of endoscopic and TCM symptom score. According divided into groups:damp and hot accumulate knot, gas stagnation and blood stasis, spleen and kidney deficiency syndrome, the patients of the matched group were respectively given prescriptionⅠof UC, prescriptionⅡof UC, prescriptionⅢof UC, Experimental group were based on the matched group, add Schizonepeta tenuifolia 10g, Saposhnikovia divaricata lOg, taking time for one week. We could determine the Schizonepeta tenuifolia and Saposhnikovia divaricata in the treatment of ulcerative colitis in the role after a week compared efficacy differences between the two groups in abdominal pain, diarrhea, pus and blood stool, TCM symptom score and the mucosal lesions of anus mirror.Results:①There is some statistic difference between the two groups in abdominal pain, P=0.0055. The total effective rate of the experimental group is 97.62%, and the matched group is 85.71%. The experimental'group is better than the matched group.②There is some statistic difference between the two groups in diarrhea, P=0.0384. The total effective rate of the experimental group is 97.62%, and the matched group is 85.71%. The experimental group is better than the matched group.③There is some statistic difference between the two groups in pus and blood stool, P=0.0478. The total effective rate of the experimental group is 95.23%, and the matched group is 92.86%. The experimental group is better than the matched group.④We can not consider that there is statistic difference between the two groups in mucosal lesions. P=0.1194.⑤There is some statistic difference between the two groups in TCM symptom score, P=0.0180. The total effective rate of the experimental group is 95.24%, and the matched group is 83.33%. The experimental group is better than the matched group. Conclusions:Schizonepeta tenuifolia and Saposhnikovia divaricata have good synergism in relieving abdominal pain, diarrhea, pus and blood stool and TCM symptom score of the ulcerative colitis, but there is not significant differences in mucosal lesions.
