Objective: Mice anti-human CD1 05 monoclonal antibody E9 is a new kind of antibody which is a specific endothelium marker of newly-formed blood vessels in breast carcinoma. We used Mab E9 to study clinicopathologic significance of intratumoral microvascular density (IMI)) and the expression of ER, PR, PCNA and the relationships among them. Methods: 43 breast carcinoma cases, 16 benign breast lesions and 9 normal breast tissues beside the carcinoma samples were stained with CD1O5, ER, PR and PCNA by inununohistochemistry method. Results: Breast carcinoma , benign breast lesions and normal breast tissues beside carcinoma samples had significant difference (P<0.05). IMD was related to the histologic grade and metastasis of lymph nodes. With the increase of the expression PCNA, IMD was also increased. Conclusion: 1 .IMD is much higher in breast carcinoma than in benign breast lesions and normal breast tissues. 2.The lower the histologic grade, the higher the IMD. 3 .When the breast carcinoma is in active proliferation, IMD is also higher. 4. The results suggest that expression of CD 105 might be a new prognostic factor in breast carcinoma.
