ObjectiveTo compare Microendoscopic Discectomy(MED) with LOVE's method for the treatment of lumbar disc herniation(LDH) and evaluate the clinlical effect of MED method for LDH.MethodsThere were 50 cases with MED method as observed group and other 50 cases with LOVE's method as compared group .According to Macnab's standard to evaluate the clinical effect, compared two groups with the length of incision.blood lost, operative time, the highest body temperature for 3 days after operation, time on getting out of bed after operation, time in hospital and time on recovering normal living and working.ResultsThe rate of excellent and good results in observed group was 92%,it was 90% in compared group, there was no significant statistical difference between two groups in the clinical effect(P>0.05).But there was significant statistical difference between two groups in the length of incision, blood lost, operative time, the highest body temperature for 3 days after operation, time on getting out of bed after operation, time in hospital and time on recovering normal living and working (P<0.05).ConclusionIt is parallel for the clinical effect between two groups. But MED method is better method for the treatment of LDH because it has advantages of minimal invasion, shorter time of recovery, least pain and excellent effect.
