| OBSECTIVE: To study the mechanisms of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in treating chronic heart failure, the experiment mainly object the effect on neuroendocrine system of rat of chronic congestive heart failure (CHF) by using Qiangxin Tongmai pills.METHODS: Though left coronary arterial ligature combine with hunger and swimming on normal Wistar rats to make up animal model with syndrome of qideficiency and blood stasis of CHF. The tats were divided into normal control, group; model groyup; TCM middle dosage group and TCM heavy dosage group, 8 rats in every group. All the rats were raised with normal water and forage. 8 weeks later, using ELISA method to determine the change of PRA and angiotensin II (Ang II ) in plasma; using immunohistochemical method to determine the change of PRA and angiotensin II (AngII) in plasma;using immunohistochemical method to deternine the change of AngII in local myocardium and though electron-microscope to object the change of the super micro-structure of myocardial cells.RESULTS: compare with the normal group, the model group decreased in normal condition, heart function (P<0.05), increased in the level of PRA and AngII(P<0. 05), and the super micro-structure of left ventricle has obvious change. TCM group and western medicine group obviously improved in normal condition; compare with model group, the two groups increased in heart function(P<0. 05), and increased in the level of PRA and AngII(P<0. 05),as well as AngII in local myocardium(P<0. 05). The super micro-strure of the left ventricle has obvious improvement.CONCLUSION: Qiangxin Tongmai pills can regulate the change of neuroendocrine systerm in CHF to protect myocardial cell, improve cardiac function and treat CHF though control the excessive promotion of RAS. |
