| Objective: To observe the clinical effect on acute arthritis and the effects on blood uric acid contents by combining the electro-acupuncture treatment with medication treatment; to follow up the mechanism of treating acute gouty arthritis with acupuncture therapy; to seek a more effective treatment combining traditional Chinese with Western medicine. Methods: 100cases of acute gouty arthritis were randomly divided into three groups, namely, electro-acupuncture group, western medicine group(indometacin enteric-coated, benzbromarone ),and treatment group (by combining the electro-acupuncture treatment with western medicine), before and after each course of treatment their blood uric acid level were observed and tested and analysed. Results:1. There was a conspicuous disparity in effective rate among the three groups(P<0.05), the total effective rate of treatment group was superior to that of the others (P<0.05) , while the electro-acupuncture group was superior to the western medicine group;2. There was a conspicuous disparity in function time (acesodyne) among the three groups (P<0.05). The time since the treatment begins to function for treatment group was obviously shorter than that of the others (P<0.05), while the time of the electro-acupuncture group shorter than the western medicine group (P<0.05).3. There was an obvious change in blood uric acid among the three groups (P<0.05).And there was conspicuous disparity among the three. And the decreasing extent in the treatment group was superior to that of the others (P<0.01), while the western medicine group superior to the electro-acupuncture group. Conclusions: The treatment of combining electro-acupuncture with Western medicine can cure the acute gouty arthritis effectively, which can be taken as an ideal way to treat the acute gouty arthritis. Clues: Effect of care by combing traditional Chinese with Western medicine can be achieved by retroacting the purine metabolism to lower the level of blood uric acid and to decrease the synthesis of it... |
