The article includes two parts: I . Clinical Study on Fuzheng and Quxie Capsule to Protecting Relapse andMetastasis of Postoperative Colorectal CancerObjective: the clinical importance of Fuzheng and Quxie Capsule used in solidified therapy of postoperative colorectal cancer will be discussed and the idea of treating tumor with warm drug and supporting function of spleen and stomach will be validated in clinical trial. Method: prospective cohort study was applied to the trial, 53 cases in clinc of Xiyuan Hospital treated with Fuzheng and Quxie Capsule were selected to compare with 48 cases in western medicine hospital in the same time. The rate of relapse-metastasis for two groups and the changes of symptoms, KPS score, QOL(quality of life) score, immunological function and security of Fuzheng and Quxie Capsule were observed. Results: 1-year, 2-year and 3-year relapse-metastasis rate of treat group are 0, 2.7% and 14.8% respectively, those are 6.25%, 24.2% and 30.8% in control group. 2-year rate of two groups has significant difference (P<0.05). Average time appearing relapse and metastasis in treat group is 26.25 ±4.50 months and it is 14.25 ±4.20 months in control group. The difference between them is significant (P<0.05). Symptoms, KPS score and QOL score are improved obviously. Conclusion: Fuzheng and Quxie Capsule used in postoperative colorectal cancer could protect relapse and metastasis as well asimprove quality of life. They will have advantage for postoperative colorectal cancer. II. Herbal medicines for relapse and metastasis of postoperative colorectal cancer Objective: The objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM) in preventing and treating postoperative colorectal cancer compared with non-intervention or western medicine (WM) treatment (chemotherapy or radiotherapy), including CHM combined with chemotherapy or radiotherapy compared with simple WM treatment. Method: the study that has completed, is performing, has been published or not been published all of the world about protecting rlapse and metastasis for postoperative colorectal cancer by CHM were searched according to search strategy and criterion for including and excluding. The quaily of elected study will be valued and the results will be statisticsed by Meta-analysis. Results: 6 studies elected from 244 correlative literatures were included and CHM combined with WM could increase 3 year and 5- year survival rate compared with single WM treatment (P=0.02, P=0.04). Difference between CHM and chemotherapy has not been found. Relapse-metastasis rate, symptoms, CEA and KPS score have been reported in the studies, but the results could not be analysesed because of different criterion. The studies also exist the problem of low quality. Conclusion: We find low quality in the studies about effect of CHM treating...
