In the modern society, with the improvement of people's living standard and the change of meal structure, the incidence of disease and death rate taking arteriosclerosis as representative cardiovascular disease are higher and higher. The World Health Organization lists it as the leading cause that endangering the human health seriously in the 21st century. So how to prevent and cure the disease, have become an important topic which need to be solved all over the world.The arterial pulse wave is made up of the blood flow and the pressure wave propagating by the vascular wall, so the pulse is a nature information source, we can get some valuable pathologic index signs through the analysis of pulse wave. As a noninvasive measurement means, it is very meaningful to make a diagnosis of arteriosclerosis with the pulse wave signs.In this paper, we analyze the pulse wave's physiologic mechanism of pulse and describe the relation between pulse wave and arteriosclerosis based on the theories of the arteriosclerosis. And we summery some related theories of this paper, such as the characteristics of pulse signals, familiar signal processing method etc. On the base of the predecessor's research, several subjects are studied.After explicating the signal's source, the paper began to introduce the processing in advance. The mainly work is to denoise base on wavelet wave. To the base-line drift's noise we delete the signal in big scale after wavelet transform, but it is difficult for other noise to select threshold with the common thresholding way. The paper supply a new way of selecting threshold-fuzzy thresholding. A particular membership function is found and themethod does better than he common thresholding one.Describing the physiology meaning of pulse wave's parameter andchoosing eight ones related arteriosclerosis to research according to the predecessor's research and clinical studies result. The parameters are in two aspects: time and frequency domain. We can analyze pulse wave completely from more angles, which is also a innovation in the paper. And we analyze and experiment to the parameter especial to harmonic.It acquires good classification result with different data processing project adopting the radial basis probabilistic neural network (RBPNN) technique. And the genetic algorithm is used to optimize the spread parameter of RBPNN, which avoids the trouble of trial and raises the accuracy of the network.The end of the paper is a summary and outlook that studies to the origin, which puts forward some suggestions to the existent shortage in order to provide the later research reference.The automatic analysis of the pulse wave has been a more popular research topic. The method developed in paper is noninvasive and it integrates the signal processing and mathematical tool to examine arteriosclerosis. We hope it can offer clinical index to prevent and evaluate the disease.
