Osteoarthritis (Osteoarthritis, OA) is chronic pathological joints disease, which has pathological features of a change of cartilages and hyperplasia around bones. The terminology of Osteoarthritis was firstly proposed by Garrod in 1890. It included an inflammation process, and therefore it was less able to indicate the nature of the disease, but the terminology of Osteoarthritis is still in international widespread. Nichols and Richardson proposed degenerative joint disease in 1909. It was more able to indicate the pathology of the disease, but failed to apply widely. During the 20th century, Osteoarthritis was definition from the "hypertrophic arthritis" to be evolved into the universally recognized definition:Osteoarthritis disease is the result of loss of normal balance of synthetic and chemical degradation of joints cartilage cells, bone cells under mechanical and biological factors interact. However, Osteoarthritis was triggered by multiple factors, including factors of genetic, developmental, metabolic and trauma. Osteoarthritis can implicate the entire organization of movable joints. The final result of Osteoarthritis disease was the intenerating, fiberlization, ulcers and reducing of joints cartilages, the hardness of under cartilage bone, due to the change of cartilage cells and matrix morphology, biochemistry, molecular biology and biomechanics. The obvious clinical manifestations of Osteoarthritis are joints pain, pain the tenderness, movements limited, twirl pronunciation, and sometimes joints fluid leaking and various degrees arthritis disease without body reaction. Many of the world' s medical scholars conducted research on the disease 100 years ago. But the cause of the disease pathogenesis and treatment are still in the research stage, and there is no clear conclusion about it. The current statue of western medical research leaves certain space to the understanding and treatment of the disease for Chinese medicine. A lot of Chinese medicine practitioners used Chinese medicine to treat this disease and they had achieved certain degree curative effects. The topic discusses the theoretical basis of knee osteoarthritis pain characteristics, symptoms and proofs pending, the relation between proofs pending and the biological mechanics in clinical studies of keen osteoarthritis. It lays the foundation for in-depth study of the disease. The topic can be divided into two parts, Theory and clinical research.1. Theoretical studyIn theoretical research, it analyzes the main evidence-based of knee joint...
