Liver fibrosis is a chronic progressive liver disease which formulates after hepatic cell necrosis or injury .It exists in most ofchronic hepatict is .And 25%-40% of these patients will develop to hepatic cirrhosis even liver cancer .Currently there are a lot of patients have chronic hepatitis in China .And most of these patients have hepatic cirrhosis in different degree . If we can find out a kind of drug which is convenient cheap and high-performance to treat hepatic cirrhosis, it will bring benefit to these patients .Ruangankeli(RGKL) is a kind of Chinese formulated products which is composed of Huangqi, Danshen, Dahuang, Wuweizi, Biejia, Shouwu, Taoren et. Recent studies have shown that many active componentsin Huangqi, Danshen, Da huang et al have great effect to treat liverfibrosis , for example salvianol ic acid, salvianolic acid, astragal-oside et al .Biejia is the principal drug in this prescription .which can soft liver , eliminate stagnation, expell pathogen and suppo-rt yin .Huangqi can invigorate vital energy .Dan shen and Tanren canpromoting blood flow and eliminate stagnant blood .And Da huang is more effective in removing blood stasis . Shouwu> Wuweizi are adjunctive drugs which can nourish blood, increase qi and support yin .The whole prescription has the effect of softening hard lumps , dispellingnodes, promoting blood flow and eliminate stagnant blood.The experimental liver fibrosis was induced by CCL4 and alcohol in this study .And four groups( Ruangankeli high dose, middle dose, low dose groups and Fufangbiejiaruanganpian group) were studied to observe the pathological effect of Ruangankeli on experimental liver fibrosis.120 SD rats were divided into 6 groups-blank group, model gro-up, Ruanga nkeli high dose (18g/kg) , middle dose (9g/kg) , low dose groups (4.5g/kg) and Fufangbiejiaruanganpian group (0. 9g/kg) .The five groups(except blank group) were given hypodermic injection of40% CCL4 arachis oil 3ml/kg,twice every week,8 weeks in all ,and drinking 10% alcohol only so as to establish the model of liver fibrosis. The drugs were given via gastrogavage as the s ame time ,12 weeks in all .Observe index :plasma liver function(biochemical indicator), hyaluronic acid(HA), laminin (LN) , IV —type collagen (IV -C), IV — type precollagen (PC-III), Hydroxyproline(Hyp), hepatic tissue paraffin section HE stain, trichrome stain, TGF-β1 immunity histological chemistry colouration, α -SMA immunity histological chemistry colouration.RESULT:1. Protection effect of Ruangankeli on hepatic cell of liver fibrosis ratsThe increase of weight in model group was obviously slowly fromthe seco nd week than that in blank group. The rats' weights in the four treatmentgrou ps were all higher than the model group.Compared with that in the blank group , the serum ALT, Bil , ALB , ASAT and ALP in model group were obviously higher.
