Bupleurum Powder For The Treatment Of Diarrhea-predominant Irritable Bowel Syndrome Syndrome Of Stagnation And Spleen Deficiency

Objective: To observe the clinical curative effect of treating diarrhea predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) with Chai-Hu-Shu-Gan-San plus-minus and explore the mechanism from theoretical and clinical aspects.Method:60 cases with IBS are divided into two groups at random .Chai-Hu-Shu-Gan-san is given treatment group, and at the same time Trimebutine Maleate Tablet is given control group. Both group stopped using other interrelated treatment medicines and were observed for two periods of treatments (30 days per treatment).Results: The totally effective rate of treatment group come to 83.3%,while that of control group is 73.3%,and there is a significant difference between the treatment group and control group (P<0.05). Treatment group can improve significantly the symptoms such as bellyache,physogastry,diarrhea,bad appetite and the curative effect is better than that of control group.Conclusion: Chai-Hu-Shu-Gan-San plus-minus is a safe and effective drug of treating IBS-D, and the mechanism might be related to acceleration immunologic function , adjustment the function of neuroendocrine system; regulation stress reaction and treatment of depressive illness.
