The Hrct Assessment Of Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media Preoperative Value

Part One: Evaluate the value in the destruction of ossicularchain in chronic otitis media with MPR and MIP in HRCTObjective :To observe the ossicular chain structure with multiplanar reconstruction (MPR) and maximum intensity projection(MIP) and evaluate the diagnostic value of them in the destruction of ossicular chain in chronic otitis media(COM). Methods: 20 patients (40 ears) with sudden deafness and 62 patients (71 ears) with chronic otitis media were scanned with HRCT, Original data processed with MPR and MIP. The images generated by these techniques were respectively observed the ossicular chain structure and compared the form with the findings in the operation in the two groups. Result: In the control group, the ossicular chain structure shown clearly by the two techniques, MPR can display the entirety of stapes more clearly than MIP, while MIP can display three-dimensional of ossicular chain, in the in chronic otitis media of cholesteatoma and granuloma and simple ,MPR and MIP display-ed the destruction of ossicular chain respectively 43 and 41, 6 and 5 and 0 ears . the operation findings respectively were 41ears and 6 ears and 0 ear . Conclusions: MPR combine together MIP can elevate the diagnostic ratio of the destruction of ossicular chain in chronic otitis media (COM) .It's helpful to make operation plan.
