Pulse Side Of Gk Rats With Insulin Resistance And Tumor Necrosis Factor-a

Objective: To investigate the affection of Maitongfang about Goto-Kakisaki Wistar rats on certain related factors which cause insulin resistance, mainly on the affection on tumor necrosis factor-alpha. Methods: The GK rats were randomly divided into four groups, ie. Model control, low dosage of Maitongfang, high dosage of Maitongfang, and rosiglitazone group respectively. Normal control group was also established.After 12 weeks, the effect of different medicines on the following parameters were detected by radioimmunoassay, biochemistry detect method, Histomorphometry, etc. which were BMI, blood suger, level of serum insulin, TNF-a, FFA , (?)ectology of liver, pancrease,artery, changes in general condition and blood glucose as well. Results: The abnormality of most of the parameters stated above were shown in Goto-Kakisaki Wistar rats, as well as the pathologic changes of liver, pancrease, artery. While Maitongfang demonstrates the action of improving the general condition, adjusting the metabolism of blood glucose and blood lipid, lower Insulin resistance, improve Insulin sensitivity, correcting the dysfunction of endothelium, The comprehensive curative effect of Maitongfang is superior to that of rosiglitazone group. But Lnsensitivity and free fatty acids are exceptions. Between traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine group,the results make no diference and statistical significance (p>0.05 ) .Conclusion: Through the regulating action of many pathways and links which presented as lowering Insulin resistance, improve Insulin sensitivity, protect the function of pancrease. Maitongfang contributes to the prevention and treatment of Atherosclerosis by doing intervention job on the very first link of blood vessel pathology of DM. In short ,the conclusion is that the curative effect of Maitongfang is equal even superior to that of rosiglitazone group.
