Type 2 Diabetes Early Chinese Medicine Intervention On Inflammatory Factors

Object: 1.To estimate the influence of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) which can eliminating heat by nourishing yin and activate blood with removing stasis on inflammatory factors in early stage of type 2 diabetes mellitus (2-DM) . 2.To study effects of TCM on improving symptoms, delaying chronic complications in 2-DM of Yin deficiency and blood stasis.Methods: A randomized, double blind and parallel drug controlled trial was conducted in 108 2-DM patients for 6 months. Both of the two groups were treated with basic medicine. Besides, the trial group were given Liu Wei Di Huang Capsule and Yin Xin Ye Pian; while the control group were given Di Huang Capsule and Yin Xin Ye Pian placebo. FBG, PBG, IL-1β, IL-6, CRP were tested before and after the treatment.Results: 104 patients finished the whole investigation. 53 patients were divided into the trial group and the others into control group randomly. Compared with control group, increasing of CRP were delayed and IL-6 were decreased in the trial group. while improvement of symptoms of Yin deficiency and blood stasis were not obvious.Conclusion: In early stage of 2-DM, treatment with basic medicine plus TCM (Liu Wei Di Huang Capsule and Yin Xin Ye Pian) could decrease levels of inflammatory factors, inhibit inflammatory reactions in the vascular wall so as to protect cardiac vascular.
