Objective By testing the HTERT expression of all ages Chinese corneal limbal basal cells and transparent corneal epithelium cells to research the possibility to act as the sign of corneal limbal stem cell, to know the correlativity between the replicativity ability of Chinese corneal limbal stem cell and aging, to see the physiological property of corneal limbal stem cell, to post the cause of ocular surface disease, to provide basis for clinical diagnosis and therapy.Methods Collecting corneal limbal basal cells and transparent corneal epithelium cells of all ages Chinese, taking out RNA, using RNA as templet, adding HTERT special primer, processing RT-PCR amplication, characterizing the HTERT of all samples, then measuring the HTERT quantity of positive specimen, finally doing statistical analysis to all datum.Results In all corneal limbal basal cells HTERT is positive whereas in all transparent corneal epithelium cells HTERT is negative. Fixing quantify of all postive species. The average of all ages are 2.592,3.165,3.433,3.685,3.392,3.563,3.315,3.380, there isn′t any statistical significance (P=0.96).Conclusions The expression of HTERT can act as the sign of the corneal limbus stem cell; It doesn′t alter in all ages; The replicative ability of Chinese corneal limbal stem cell does not change with aging.
