Several Alkaloids In Proprietary Chinese Medicines Analyzed By Hplc Detection Research

The alkaloids were organic compounds containing nitrogen element in the biological entity. Alkaloids have the effects of anticancer, sedation-analgesia and hypotensive, and were widely used for clinical application. On the other hand, alkaloids have its toxicity so that the concentration of alkaloids must be monitored in clinical application and drug production.1. The recent advances of alkaloids were reviewed in this thesis and the application of chromatographic methods in the determination of alkaloids was highlighted.2. In this thesis three kinds of different type alkaloid were selected as the interest alkaloids: two indoles alkaloids (strychinine and brucine), one organic amines alkaloid (ephedrine) and one isoquinolines alkaloid (berberine hydrochloride). Different extraction methods were optimized from extraction solvent, time to methods for the extraction of the different alkaloids in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).3. TLC method was used for qualitative analysis and HPLC method for quantitative analysis of investigated alkaloids. HPLC method was developed for the determination of different alkaloids from TCM. The effect of pH, concentration of triethylamine and phosphate salt were investigation in mobile phase. The last mobile phase is acid-water and triethylamine was used to reduce tailing. What is more, ion-pair reagents used in some papers and Chinese Pharmacopoeia were not used in our study.
