Database Technology Research And Application In Food Literature In The "compendium Of Materia Medica"

,written by Li Shizhen, 400 years ago,is one of the most famous books about herbs, with reference to 40 books before Ming dynasty. In this book, it is recorded 1892 kinds of herbs, including many edible herbs. This paper is aiming at founding a database, with functions of quick search and statistic analysis, from which people can get useful information.The paper is composed of the parts below:The review part contains two aspects. The first is to trace the history of edible herbs. By this part, we can find that most of the edible herbs handed down from ancient times within medical herb books.most times, it's difficult to separate the edible herbs from the medical herbs. Among all these ancient herbs books, the records about edible herbs in is most abundant. So that's why I choose the records of edible herbs in as the object of this research.The second aspect by reviewing the modern research of , we can find that until now just a few researchers do research on the edible herb part of . Accutually, this part is very important for the healthcare area. So its emergency for us to do research on it.Through this aspect, we can get benefit from other researchers.The main part of this research can be divided into three aspects. The first one is the found of the database. It contains two parts: founding the database; collecting and standardizing datas.The second is the application of the database. The main function of the database is to quick search informations. Using this database, users can search informations of edible herbs by input keywords such as"four natures""five flavours""function"and"disease". Some kinds of sesearch can stimulate the new idea for the research&development of healthcare products.The third part is to analysis and disccuss the information of the edible herbs, from the simple condition of the edible herbs (four natures, five flavours,function), the application of those herbs and the relationship between them and diseases, with the help of the database.This research provide the"edible database", with functions of quick search, from wich one can search the useful information by use of several charatlists of herbs.Furthmore, the traditional food therapy and healthcare were combined in this paper, and many useful information were proposed.
