| Many attentions have been focused on the relationship between brain and heart, for it will be helpful for treating the illness about emotion and heart. Physiological feedback from the body and its perception (interoception) has been postulated to play an important role in emotional and conscious experiences. Brain and heart are mainly connected by automatic nervous system. Brain can feel cardiac activities and also have an influence on cardiac function.In the researches of cardiac perception, HEP (Heartbeat Evoked Potentials) and Brain Imaging methods have being used widely, on the aim for finding out the cortical and subcortical structures involved in interceptive processes. It reported that HEP has strong relationships with attention and personal heartbeat perception ability.In our research, HEP method was used. Two tasks (attention and resting state), were considered in our experiment. 30 channels of EEG (Electroencephalogram) were recorded in 22 subjects, who were subdivided into good and poor heartbeat perceivers by mental tracking task. Three problems were researched in this paper. First, research the influence factors of HEP. Second, try to delete CFA (Cardiac Field Artifact) from HEP, which is a key problem in HEP research and was argued recently by researchers. Third, research the locations of HEP. The experimental results indicated that attention factor and heartbeat perception ability are the main factors influencing HEP. PCA (Principal Component Analysis) method had a better result than Perez model method and ICA (Independent Component Analysis) method to delete CFA from HEP. Using the result after deleting CFA by PCA, Motor and somatomotor areas were located by LORETA (Low Resolution Brain Electromagnetic Tomography) tool. It's suggested form the locating result that the activity strength in motor area has relationship with attention factor and the activity strength in somatomotor area has relationship with heartbeat perception ability. |
