The present study provides a method to determine the index components in Flos chrysanthemum indicum and Yejuhua Injection by gas chromatography. Besides, gas chromatographic fingerprint chromatogram was established for the herb and its injection. The integrated quality assessment of Flos chrysanthemum indicum and Yejuhua Injection was developed.(1) Essential oil of Flos chrysanthemum indicum was studied by GC/MS. The substance in essential oil was identified by MS. There are 58 substances was found, among them 40 was identified. They are mainly monoterpene, triterpenes and fatty compound, among them the content of borneol and camphor are more.(2) To establish a method for the determination of eucalyptol, borneol and camphor in Flos chrysanthemum indicum and Yejuhua Injection by GC. The eucalyptol, borneol and camphor in the 15 batches of Flos chrysanthemum indicum was analyzed. Using DB-17 quartz capillary column (30m×0.25mm×0.25μm), the content of eucalyptol, borneol and camphor were determined by GC with linalool as internal standard. The column temperature was programmedly elevated from 80℃-100℃and both the injector and detector temperature were 280℃.The splitting ratio was 10: 1. The FID was used as detector. The linear ranges of eucalyptol, borneol and camphor were 0.026-0.26mg·mL-1(r=0.999 1), 0.05-0.49mg·mL-1(r=0.999 9) and 0.10-1.00mg·mL-1(r=0.999 9), respectively. The average recoveries were 98.3% (RSD=2.1%), 97.9% (RSD=1.5%) and 98.5% (RSD=2.3%), respectively. 9 batches of Yejuhua Injection were analyzed under the same chromatographic condition. The mean recoveries were 98.0% (RSD=2.0%),98.1% (RSD=1.8%)和98.6% (RSD=1.4%), respectively. The assay was found to be simple and accurate to measure the concentrations of eucalyptol, borneol and camphor in Flos chrysanthemum indicum and Yejuhua Injection.(3) GC fingerprint chromatogram was established for Flos chrysanthemum indicum and Yejuhua Injection. The GC system consisted of DB-17 column (30m× 0.25mm×0.25μm) and FID. The column temperature was programmedly elevated from 80℃-250℃. The temperatures of sample vent and FID were 280℃, respectively. The splitting ratio was 10: 1. 21 batches of Flos chrysanthemum indicum and 10 batches of Yejuhua Injection were studied under this condition. With the Ward's method and the Squared Euclidean distance used as the measurement index, the Hierarchical cluster was applied to the fingerprints of Flos chrysanthemum indicum and the 21 batches of Flos chrysanthemum indicum was divided into two grades. Among them the gradeⅠwas commendatory and the gradeⅡwas general. Mutual pattern was established from 16 batches in the gradeⅠ. Similarity calculations were studied by comparing the GC fingerprint chromatograms of Flos chrysanthemum indicum and mutual pattern. The similarity by the Euclidean distance, Pearson correlation, Cosine was calculated respectively. These results of the commendatory should be over 0.85 by Pearson correlation and Cosine and over 0.90 by the Euclidean distance and the other samples were the general. The Yejuhua Injection mutual pattern was established on the basis of the data from 10 batches of Yejuhua Injection. The similarity between the samples of Yejuhua Injection and the mutual pattern were calculated and the sample whose similarity results over 0.90 was eligible.
