Objective:The purpose of the study was to observe the short-term curative eft -ect of the treatment on patients with multi-infarct dementia by the acu.punctu- re method that adjusting the blood can benefit the wisdom and to explore the in- fluence of this acupuncture method on the MID patients of cognition function, non-cognition function, the blood rheology and the blood fats.Methods:The 94 patients with multi-infarct dementia who were conformed to the standard were divided randomly two groups.One was 63 examples, treatment group, who were treated by the acupuncture method that adjusting the blood can benefit the wisdom accompanied by Nimodipine.The other was 31 examples, contrast group, who were only treated by Nimodipine. Acupunctur- epoint selection: Baihui- pass Sishencong, Feichi, Gongxuepoint, Shuigong, Quchi,Zusanli, Juegu, Taixi.At the same time, we jinked Feichi and Gongxue point with electricity needle.Around the treatment, we exaluated the intelligence meter and the ability of taking care of oneself in one' s life.As well we observed the additional symptom, the blood rheology, the blood fats change of the MID patient' s.Results: 1.The acupuncture method that adjusting the blood could benefit the wisdom could obviously improve the MMSE's cummulative grades,red-uce the ADL's grades,and could improve the additional symptom of the MID patient's After the treatment, there was significant difference between two groups (P＜0.05).2.Compared with the beginning treatment,the total cholestero-1,the glycerin, LDL-c and the blood fats of the treatment group in the blood rheology reduced obviously(P＜0.05), while there were no sig- nificant changes in the contrast group.Conelusions:1.The method of adjusting the blood could benefit the wisdom that we usedto treat MID had certain clinical curative effect.2.Possibly the function mechanism of the method that adjusting the blood could benefit the wisdom that we used to cure MID had some relevance to slowing down or holding back the atherosclerosis's advancement,to improving blood circulation condition,to increasing the brain organization blood supply, to improving the brain microcycle and brain cell's functional condition,to activating the survived brain cells that were harmed slightly.
