Master Of Social Medicine And Health Management University H Index Evaluation

[Background] As the development of social medicine and health service management subject, the subject is classified as a second discipline under the public management subject. At present, social medicine and health service management have formed a four levels education system integrity include college, undergraduate, Master Degree and Ph.D. Master's, Doctoral spots' levels of scientific research are on behalf of a subject's overall academic standards. After many years of great development, it is necessary to compare and evaluate academic standards or academic influence of the Master Degree universities in social medicine and health service management subject. H index is so clever to mix the number of personal publication and the articals' quality (citation frequency) together, that overcome the shortcomings of the past various indicators in the evaluation of scientific research and that, to a large extent, overcome the inadequate of traditional bibliometric indicators in the evaluation of individual performance. Since H index was released, widely concerns had done in the academic community of a lot of countries in the world, for example, the British famous journal-Nature, the U.S. famous journal -Science. Subsequently, H index was applied to the evaluation of academic level or influence by foreign authority institutions and universities.[purposes] Investigated the current status of spots' distribution of the social medicine and health service management subject in China, include Master's degree settings' universities , Master's degree settings' colleges , the research fields of all above spots, and so on. With the application of H index on the master's degree settings' universities that had social medicine and health service management subject, we ranked top 10 universities that had more influence in the subject research fields of social medicine and health service management in China (Version 1). We had a try on the development of H index. Hm index was designed. And with the independent use of Hm index on the master's degree settings' universities that had social medicine and health service management subject, we ranked another top 10 universities that had more influence in the subject research fields of social medicine and health service management in China (Version 2).[Methods] Mainly through the website of International Education Network 114 & 114 international study section Informatipn Network (www.114ee.com). we collected the information of universities that had social medicine and health service management subject Master Degree settings, the information of mentors and the information of research fields. Other websites such as universities were as a supplement to collect the above information. Taken advantage of the biomedical databases, such as CNKI databases, Wanfang database, we finished the instructors' information more completely. According to instructors and other information we used the Chinese citation database to search, filter, sort, statistics and calculate. Then, H index and Hm index was done and we ranked the two versions' top 10 Master Degree universities.[Results] There are total 61 universities that have Master Degree with social medicine and health service management. According to H index, the top 10 are Fudan University, Second Military Medical University, Zhongshan University, Beijing University, Third Military Medical University, Zhejiang University, Beijing Normal University, Harbin Medical University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Shandong University. According to Hm index, the top 10 are Fudan University, Zhongshan University, Second Military Medical University, Sichuan University, Beijing Normal University, the Third Military Medical University, Beijing University, Zhejiang University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Harbin Medical University.
