Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam.(Labiatate)widely distributed in Xinjiang of China,Mongolia, Hazakh etc,is used as a folk medicine for the treatment of coronary artery disease, hypertension and so on.It was also reported that the essential oil of Ziziphora clinopodioides Lain.has antibacterial activity.Sixteen compounds were isolated from the roots and stems of Ziziphora clinopod ioidesnb Lain.by means of repeated column chromatography on silica gel and sephadex LH-20, PTLC and so on.On the basis of physico-chemical properties and spectroscopic analysis, fifteen compounds were identified as:oleanolic acid(1),salylic acid(2),5,6,4'-trihydroxy-7,8,3'-trimethoxyflavone(3), quercetin(4),quercetin 3-O-β-D glucopyranoside(5),α-spinasterol(6),α-spinaster-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(7),caffeic acid(8),methyl rosmarinat(9),rosemarinic acid(10),1-hydroxy-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-propanoic acid methyl ester(11),protocatechuic acid(12),galactitol(13),β-sitosterol(14),daucosterol (15),9 compounds(2,5-7,9-13)were isolated from this genus for the first time.At the same time,the essentail oil obtained from the leaves and flowers of Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam. was analyzed by GC-MS,23 components have been identified.A review on Ziziphora was summarized based on the related references and our research works.
