Objective:By means of observing the effects of zi yin qian yang jie du tong luo decoction in different dosages on left ventricular hypertrophy,systolic Blood Pressure,left ventricular weight index,tissue morphology and collagenⅠ,collagenⅢin spontaneously hypertensive rats(SHRs),this research aims to explore the repress and improve of zi yin qian yang jie du tong luo decoction to left ventricular hypertrophy induced by essential.Methods:Ten-week-old male SHRs were divided randomly into 5 groups:SHR-C(un-treated), SHR-Y(treated with Enalapril),SHR-Zl(treated with high dose of ZYQYJUTL decoction),SHR-Z2(treated with moderate dose of ZYQIJDTL decoction),SHR-Z3(treated with low dose of ZYQYJDTL decoc-tion).Each group consisted of 10 rats.After 4 weeks treatment,all rats were killed.Systolic Blood Pressure.left ventricular weight index(LVWI) and collagenⅠ.collagenⅢwere calculated.The morphological and structural changes of myocardial cells in left ventricle of SHRs were observed with light microscope and transmission electron microscope.Results:1.The SBP of SHRs in SHR-C and SHR-Z3 rose gradually while rats grew.After 4 weeks treatment,compared SHR-Z1,SHR-Z2 and SHR-Y with SHR-C,the SBP was decreased significantly(P＜0.05).2.Compared SHR-Z1,SHR-Z2 and SHR-Y with SHR-C respectively,LVWI decre- ased significantly(P＜0.05),and there was no significant difference betw-een SHR-Z3 and SHR-C (P＞0.05).3.The results under light microscope were:In SHR-C,cardiac muscle fibers were swollen or disrupted as well as some hypertrophic nuclei of myocardial cells.There are normal myocardial cells with greatly part of SHR-Z1 and SHR-Y.The results under transmission electronmicroscope were:In SHR-C and SHR-Z3 some myocardial cells were markedly disorganized or disrupted mitochondrial cristae.In SHR-Z1,SHR-Z2 and SHR-Y the above-mentioned pathological changes eases obviously.Conclusion:1.With the increase of weekly age,the blood pressure of SHRs rose gradually,and LVH came into being.2.ZYQYJDTL decoction can reduce the SBP and LVWI of SHRs signifcantly.The above-mentioned effects of ZYQYJDTL decoction increased with the increase of dosage.3.The mechanisms of LVH might be the damnification of heart by poison is related. ZYQYJDTL decoction could slow down the damages of left ventricle and ruduce collagenⅠand collagenⅢin SHRs during the possess of LVH,which might be one of the imporant mechanisms.
