Licorice Fuzi Decoction And The Decoction And Anti-inflammatory And Analgesic Efficacy Of Sub-decoction Is A Comparative Study

Objective:By establishing mice models with physical and chemi- cal pain and rats models with adjuvant arthritis (AA), the research was undertaken to observe the anti-inflammation and analgesic ef- fects of mingled decoction and separated decoction of Gancao Fuzi Decoction (GFD),thereby clarifying the pharmacodynamical effects of different decocting methods and the correlation of decocting methods with prescription and providing scientific experimental guideline for clinic.Methods:Mice models with physical pain were induced by hot plate procedure, electric stimulation, mice models with chemical pain were induced by twisting, analgesic actions of GFD in mice was valuated with pain index,such as licking heels, vocalization and twisting.The AA models were made by injecting 100 ul Complete Freund Aduvant (FCA) in rats. Anti-inflammatory and analgesic actions of GFD on AA mice was observed by swelling of hind Paw and evaluation of AA;Interl- eukin-1β(IL-1β)and Tumor Necrosis Factor-α(TNF-α)levels in blood serum were determined by ELISA; The pathomorphological changes of hind paw in AA mice were observes by Hematoxylin and Eosin(HE) staining.Results:The latent period of licking hind Paw could be prolonged , twisting response caused by acetic acid could be restrained, threshold of vocalization and pain caused by electric stimulation was raised.GFD was able to relieve the swelling of hind paw and multiple arthritis in AA rats;The abnormal viscera index in AA rats got right to a certain extent;GFD also evidently inhibited the production of TNF-αand IL-1βin blood serum of AA rats.Patho- logical changes in tissue slices,such as hyperplasy,fracture of synovial membrane,bone destruction and infiltration of inflammatory cells, were improved in AA rats.The anti-inflammatory and analgesic actions of mingled decoction of GFD were slightly different from the separated.It is not statistically significant.Conclusion:GFD has analgesic and anti-inflammation effects wh- ich is not different with the different decocting methods.
