AIM: Based on the basics theory that Du meridian belong to brain.To choose baihui (DU20), as a treatment,to observe effect that is ability of leaning,memory and S100βprotein in the model rats.For further discuss on mechanism and effect in the treatment of MCI by electroacupunctureMETHOD: Wistar rats are selected to trial object, the cases were divided into normal control (n=12), MCI model (n=12), acupuncture baihui(DU 20)(n=12)and acupuncture non-meridian point(n=12)group ran- domly.Application and improvement model rats of severe carotid art- ery stenosis lead to cognitive impairment.After two weeks,acupuncture baihui(DU 20)point and Morris Water Maze Test was performed to observe the change of cognitive fun- ction while before and after model establishment and post-treatment, the content of S100βprotein in rats'brain was measured by SABC.RESULT:⑴To observe general external manifestations, as the ex- periment goes on, rats of normal cantonal and acupuncture baihui gr- oup have pretty good performance,but there was bradykinesia,cutis laxa,irritability and resisting arrest etc. In different degree on the acupuncture non-meridian point and MCI-model group.⑵In water maze tests, to observe after acupuncture for treatment, in compare- ison with MCI model group, the latency of place navigation test can be reduced with acupuncture baihui(DU 20)(p≤0.05)and detect and compute the times of the mice cross the platform can be improved in space probe experiment(p<0.05).⑶electroacupuncture baihui (DU 20) decree- ased the S100βprotein content(p<0.05)and S100βprotein content was almost resumed .CONCLUSION:⑴Ligation of bilateral carotid arteries method to make mild cognitive impairment model,closeness to the Pathological Changes of MCI.⑵The ability of get experience(study) and save ex- perience(memory) of mild cognitive impairment rats can be improved by acupuncture.⑶S100βprotein content in the neuroglial cell can be reduced and tend to be normal by acupuncture, that may be one of the mechanism of acupuncture on improvement of learning and memory abilities in MCI-model rats.⑷Acupuncture baihui is an effective method to improve and treat of MCI in clinic.
