Multifunction Clamp-style No-pin External Fixator Tibia And Fibula Fractures Discussed

Objective:To investigate factors affecting the effects of Nulti-functional forceps clip pinless external fixator(PEF) in tibial-fibular fractures, and their corresponding methods.Nethods:6 cases and relevant literatures of tibial-fibular fractures who had been treated with the PEF in recent ten years were reviewed.To investigate various of factors affecting the effects of PEF in tibial-fibular fractures,including mechanical stability of external fixators itself,methods of fractures reduction(close reduction or limited incision),additional intenal fixation or not,methods and skills of operation in using external fixators,dynamic or not et,al.Results:6 cases of fracture have been treated surgically with PEF,Five fractures healed well,and the mean union time was 4 months.①Two cases in fixed after two weeks when taken X-ray films oblique fractures that review of the fractures are two lines,by increasing the percutaneous tension screws maintain reset.②One after one week fixed a clamp loose,after adjustment.③Two cases were four clamp into skin inflammation,local point by symptomatic treatment improved,had no affecting to clamp fixed.④Another one case the radial forearm comminuted fracture combined acute fascia compartment syndrome patients with PEF as temporary fasciotomies were fixed and cure decompression,soft tissue,two weeks after converting swelling,fixation,and the results were satisfactory.Conclusion:1.The defects of PEF in the stability were found in current studies.2.Anatomical reduetion can be accomplished by limited incision,it can shorten the healing time remarkablely and make operation easy and quiek.3.Using additional internal fixation(screw or wire) in unstablefraetures,the fixed stability of PEF will be increased and the healing time will be shortened.4.The mechanical rigidity of PEF and the fixed stability of fractures Can be increased by methods and skills of operation in using extemal fixators.
