Objective: To summarize the clinical effects and methods of arthroscopic reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament with impair medial collateral ligament with semitendinosus tendon. Methods:Arthroscopic reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament and restore medial collateral ligament at the same time. From June 2007 to February 2008.The stabilization were evaluated with Lachman test. The effects were evaluated with Lysholm and IKDC score. Results: Among 40 cases, all cases were follow up.Mean follow-up was 15.5 months,Lachman test of 37 cases were negative after operation.Lachman test after operation was much better than that before operation.Lysholm score were remarkable improved from preoperative 54.0±4.5 scores to postoperative 91.0±5.8 scores(P<0. 01).Overall 92.5% of patients had a good or excellent result.Furthermore, based on IKDC score, there were 35 abnormal knees(grade C) and 5 severely abnormal knee(grade D) preoperatively;but after operation, there were 20normal knees(grade A ),17 nearly normal knees (grade B ) and 3 abnormal knees(grade C) at follow up (P<0.01).Conclusions: Arthroscopic reconstruction of impairment of anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament with the healthy side semitendinosus tendon has a high short-term stability rate, high patient satisfaction level, good postoperative function and a low postoperative complication rate.Early and system postoperative exercises can be done by patients.
