Objective To evaluate the prostecdtive efficacy of early and selective percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) in acute coronary syndromes(ACS) and the influence of Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) to the disease. Methods During the period from April 2006 to April 2007,there were154 cases (male:116;femal:38) who were admitted because of ACS of simultaneous treatment with PCI. These cases were divided into early intervention group and selective intervention group on the basis of the time of intervention, and meanwhile into regular administration group and plus TCM treatment group according to whether or they were not plus TCM. Cardiac death and acute myocardial infarction (AMI)were the primary end point in one year. Recurrence angina and readmission were the secondary end point.Result There were no significant statistical differences between early intervention group and selective intervention group (p>0.05), although cardiac death ratio of the former was higher than the later. The comparison of the secondary end point showed there were significant differences between recurrence angina and readmission (p<0.05).There was statistical significance in regular intervention group and plus TCM treatment group. Conclusion The patients with ACS should accept early intervention therapy to improve survival rate and quality of life. TCM has evident prostecdtive efficacy on ACS, and therefore the method may be widely applied.
