Electro-acupuncture Therapy On Eae Rat Mbp Antibody, Ua Content Of The Study

Multiple sclerosis(MS) is a common cause for the young disabled by a inflammatory demyelination diseases of central nervous system.The research about MS has made some progress in treatment.Reasonable treatment for MS patients can improve the degree of disability and decrease the recurrence rate.Experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis encephalomyelitis(EAE),is generally recognized in the study of human MS animal model.Especially,rats EAE model is an important research platform for observing pathological changes,exploring EAE MS etiology and pathogenesis,choosing new therapeutic targets and evaluating the curative effect.From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine research EAE model for finding out its etiology and pathogenesis,and searching low-toxic but high-active treatments,is one of the main task of clinical and experiment of TCM.This study includes two parts were overviews and the experimental research. Overviews generalize the cause and mechanism of TCM and modern medicine for MS, and summarize various therapy treatments in EAE model and clinical trials for the past few years.The part of experimental research includes:observing the effect of on serum anti-MBP and UA at different stages(18d peak period and 28d recurrence period) of acupuncture(hormone in the positive control) on EAE rat. And to find out the mechanism of the effect of acupuncture therapy for rats EAE. To further comprehend the mechanism of TCM for the treatment of demyelinating disease.And then to provide a safe and effective treatment approaches for clinical treatment of MS.Methods:92 Wistar rats,180-200g,were randomly assigned to control group(10 rats),model group(24 rats),hormone group(24 rats),and acupuncture group(24 rats).EAE model induced by injection antigen which made of the spinal cord homogenate and complete Freund's adjuvant(CFA).Hormone group intravenous methylprednisolone sodium succinate.Acupuncture group adopt electro-acupncture on baihui,shen shu,double zusanli.Measuring serum anti-MBP Used ELISA and serum UA Used phosphorus acid method.Result:(1) serum anti-MBP level of control group,hormone group and acupuncture group compared to model group was significant difference(P＜0.05) at 18d peak period and 28d recurrence period.And it was similar among control group,hormone group and acupuncture group(P＞0.05).(2) serum UA level of control group,hormone group and acupuncture group compared to model group was significant difference (P＜0.05) at 18d peak period and 28d recurrence period.And hormone group and acupuncture group compared to control group was significant difference (P＜0.05),but it was similar among hormone group and acupuncture group(P＞0.05).Conclusion:acupuncture treatment have effct on serum anti-BMP and UA level of EAE rats at different stages.So it can improve and prevent demyelination diseases.And its effect was similar with hormone,but not better than hormone.Thus acupuncuture can be used as an adjuvant therapy,but not a substitute of hormone.
