Objective:To study the quality of life of the patients with cervical cancer after radiotherapy. Furthermore, the influencing factors of the quality of life were also aimed to analyze.Methods:100 patients with cervical cancer after radiotherapy, who received the radical radiotherapy (6MV linear accelerator radiation therapy of pelvic field irradiation 5000 cGY and Ir-192 at close range after the irradiation installed 6-9 times) in the People's Hospital and the Peace Hospital during 2008-2009, were investigated at 3,6,12 months after treatment, respectively. The general states of patients were investigated by self-designed questionnaire (name, age, occupation, education level, clinical stage, treatment case). In addition, the qualities of life were examined by cancer therapy scale system of systems Chinese version of the General Module FACT-G (V4.0) developed by Cella from the state of Chicago. Results:Age, education, clinical stage, social support, different stages of recovery after radiation therapy affect the quality of life of patients.①quality of life of younger patients of 40 years old age groups were higher than 50~and 60~70 age groups, by statistical analysis (P<0.05) significant difference. Three age groups physical condition, emotional state, functional status, and scores were first increased and then decreased in the 6 months after treatment, the highest in 3 months and 12 months, no significant difference (P> 0.05); social/family support was the first rise after falling trend in the 6 months after treatment the lowest.②quality of life patients of high school education group were more higher than patients of junior and primary school education by statistical analysis (P<0.05) significant difference; the three education groups physical condition, emotional status, functional status, and total scores with change of time increased and then decreased.6 months to peak,3 months and 12 months are almost the same score.③clinical stage were significantly different between the two groups (F=5.887 P= 0.017), the quality of life of II patient groups were higher than of III patient groups mainly in the emotional aspects of the situation, and total scores were significantly different (p<0.05).④recovery after treatment with different quality of life scores, analysis of variance model checking (F=6.324, p<0.001), with statistical significance. Six months after treatment than patients quality of life after treatment for three months,10 months group score higher quality of life of patients by statistical analysis (P<0.05) were significantly different. Conclusion:The quality of life the patients with cervical cancer after radiotherapy. can be affected by age, education level, clinical stage. There are different influencing factors of the quality of life in the different periods. Compared with 3 and 12 months after treatment, the quality of life of patients at 6 months is fine.
