The prose in Eastern Wu Kingdom is the main object of study in《The study of the prose in Eastern Wu Kingdom》. This thesis tries to reveal the creative conditions people have neglected. Wu Kingdom is situated in the east of Chang River. That is a good place and has a long history. According to the records in other materials, the writer analyses the development and change of Wu Kingdom from Qin Dynasty to Three Kingdoms. Economy in this area had developed progressively. From the undeveloped state in Western Han Dynasty to the developed state, the population had grown and the agriculture﹑ shipbuilding industry﹑salt industry had been developed. Based on this , the prose had become prosperous in Eastern Wu Kingdom. The rulers, officers and soldiers and scholars all paid attention to the literary creation. Generally speaking, although the prose creation hadn't caught up with that in Wei Kingdom , there were some famous prose writers such as Zhang Hong, Hu Zong, Wei Zhao, Hua He, Xue Zong, Xue Ying, etc.Based on the content of the prose in this period, it can be classified into academic prose, practical prose and other prose. Practical prose as the important part, include zouyi( a kind of petition to the emperor), the imperial (a kind of imperial edict ), letters and beizhi prose (a kind of prose inscribed on a tombstone), besides lunshuo prose,chuanzhuang prose, etc. This prose has its own characteristics, there were also some other excellent prose, such as Sun Quan's imperial, Lu Jing's letter , inscription on Gu Lang stele and《Cao Man Commentary》and so on.Based on the art form, the prose in this period has its own characteristics. It mainly carry on the traditions that Confucianism prose has during the last period of Han Dynasty. Some of the prose reflected the honest and sincere style of writing which existed in the Confucianism prose . The prose in this period also had the art tendency to chase after rich and flowery vocabulary. Based on the art form, the prose in this period has its own characteristics. Most of the prose kept away from oral language ,used a lot of allusions and so on, which also appeared in the literature of the next dynasty.In addition, the prose in this period has its own geographical characteristics. From some prose, we can feel local conditions and customs, natural scene and so on . This point is different from that of the prose in Wei Kingdom. Last, as a part of the literary of Three Kingdoms, it is influenced by the literary of Wei Kingdom.Even if there was political resistance between these two countries at that time , it didn't hinder the cultural exchange. The prose of Wu Kingdom had a lot of characteristics, for example, appraising the character, giving priority to refined language and so on were affected by the literature of Wei Kingdom.There were a lot of writers who wrote the prose in this period. The impassioned feelings were mainly elaborated with Zhu Ge Ke as the represent. As the out standing representative scholars of persons living in Wu Kingdom, Zhu Ge Ke's eloquence made him become the most important minister who assist Sun Quan. However, later he used up all the energy through out the country to send an northern expedition, which resulted in the opposition from all kinds of political powers.The army led by him failed both outside and inside at last. Associated with his personalities and his experiences ,he wrote the prose with deep feeling and enthusiasm, which showed his enterprise and verve. Sun Quan's, Zhu Ge Jin's and Wei Zhao's characteristics to write prose are set out. Sun Quan usually wrote prose in a bold and uninhibited style, while Zhu Ge Jin did in a simple and plain style. And Luo Tong's, Hu Zong's and Wei Zhao's prose had creative characteristics. Their prose makes the prose in this period colorful.Therefore, during the Chinese literary history, the prose in this period has its own unique position and contributions. First of all, some scholars who had strong personalities and their own characteristics had appeared . Thanks to their hobbies and their abilities, they created some well- known prose, which made the literature in Three Kingdoms more plentiful. Secondly, the spirit and the style in the prose of Three Kingdoms had been constructed based on the prose in Wei , Shu, Wu Kingdom. At last, some excellent prose writers such as Lu Ji, Lu Yun and so on in Jin Dynasty had been trained in Wu Kingdom. In a word, as a part of the literature in Three Kingdoms, the prose in Wu Kingdom make great contributions to the Chinese literature .
