The pottery figurines in Han and Tang Dynasty are the most accomplished, they had numerous forms and rich contents. Although there are a lot of analysis about them most of analysis were from historical and archaeological angle.Leaving aside the historical and archaeological ,pure studies from the angle of modelling forms seems still relatively small. When facing a pottery figurine ,we may feel that it is good, but we can't to explain the reason It is difficult to translate the perceptual experiences into rational expressions. The former is direct and integral,the latter is logical and fragmentary Chinese people are satisfied with the level that "can be sensed but not expressed in words ". The only of some descriptions are figurative and of poetry The advantage of doing this is to hold things original appearance, and not to destroy things integrity. But in theoretical level such expressions are not clear enough.The pottery figurines in Han and Tang Dynasty are the study objects in this paper. Using several methods of modeling analysis as clues, I explained the constitutional relation of pottery figurines from four aspects,which were the space consciousness, the utility of line, the dynamic expression and the basic space control. I wanted to show the inner reason that why the pottery figurines in Han and Tang dynasty had the quality of "Lively spirit and vitality".
