He Lin Body Concept Study

Responding to the crisis of the Chinese nation and Chinese culture, He Lin has added in the activities of Confucianism rehabilitation and reconstruction. He deeply influenced by Western philosophy and Neo-Confucianism, especially the impact of Lu and Wang Philosophy of the Mind, and then he put forward his own ideas. From the point of Epistemology and the theory of value, he has annotated "mind is theory", and he has emphasized the main body, in the knowledge and the value form the standard function. It can be seen that his ideas are mainly based on traditional Chinese Confucianism. He summarized and absorbed the other Neo-Confucian ideas, and fused Western philosophy. He advocated that "sinicizing Western philosophy", and then, put forward "taking the spirit or rational as substance, and ancient and modern culture as function". He Lin emphasized that Chinese philosophy and Western philosophy with the whole body, so that pointed out the direction for the new development of Confucianism.This thesis is mainly studied with the Substance-function view in He Lin's thoughts. In the Substance-function view, harmonization between the Substance and the function is its methodological principle with the traditional Chinese philosophy. He has used the Western ontology approach and the phenomenological method to describe the process of dialectical unity about the thought of harmonization between the Substance and the function. It has some value. He Lin researched the Substance-function and their relation, also summarized the Substance-function view in Chinese philosophy and Western philosophy. Not only to solve the noumenon problem, but also as a fundamental approach to use. To some extent, it implied important methodological sense. He Lin used the Substance-function thought body to illustrate mind-matter relation, the relationship between knowing and doing, and between culture and spirit, along with Chinese society of moral problems. He has no systematic elaboration for the Substance-function view, but this thesis tidied up the Substance-function view mainly by studying the Substance-function view of application situation, and made an approach to the purpose and connection, origin, content, application and so on.
