Esoteric Buddhism became a genre when India Mahayana Buddhism developed to the later period. Through 800 years'preparation after the spreading to China, the India Mahayana Buddhism created Esoteric Buddhism in Tang Dynasty and turned into one of the eight Chinese Buddhist sects. In AD 804, Japanese monk Kukai came to Tang and brought the popular new ideas of Esoteric Buddhism to Japan. From then on, it became the Buddhism mainstream of Japan Heian Period, and its effect to Japanese Buddhism has never been stopped. But in our China, the Esoteric Buddhism died out gradually and became an extinct learning in Ming and Qing Dynasty. In early 20th century, a number of famous monks once ferried to Japan, hoping to link the bracken Esoteric Buddhism, but they failed. Wu Guang studied abroad in Japan in 1972 and brought the Esoteric thinking to China again.The study first defined a part of using concepts, then gave a comprehensive description by the application of information, after explained the growth experience and background of Wu Guang master clearly, his ideas was divided into four parts to discuss. The four parts were:Zen Thoughts,Esoteric Buddhism Thoughts,Prajna Thoughts,Buddhism World Thoughts. The study using Wu Guang master merged Esoteric Buddhism Thoughts with Zen Thoughts and formed an unique Esoteric Zen Thoughts as well as the dissertation about Japan Buddhism Thoughts after WuGuang master inherited and developed as the main line, summarized his inheritance and development on Esoteric Buddhism Thoughts. At the same time, clarifying the characteristics and innovation of Wu Guang master's Esoteric Buddhism thoughts by the dissertation of Prajna Thoughts and Buddhism World Thoughts.At last, make a historical assessment about Wu Guang master returning Esoteric Buddhism. It inherited and promoted the Chinese culture, reflected the Chinese and Japanese civilize communication, strengthen the cultural exchanges between China and Taiwan, promoted the development of Buddhist culture, it is an event of historic significance.
