The study depends on the interaction of inner cognize and environment. Cognize is constituted of cognitive-levels, cognitive structures and cognitive-styles. Everyone has his special steady cognitive-style which is affect our thoughts, the way and attitude we solve the problems. It is an aspect of individual differences, only can we teach students according to their aptitude by understand children's cognitive-styles.Narrative is the basic form of language teaching. We could not only development children's language capacity but also could inspire their fancy. The essence of the picture book is narrativity. Therefore this study research arbitrative of children with different cognitive styles while reading a picture book.Thirty-five children were collected form four classes,17 children's cognitive styles are field-independence, others are field-dependence. The Study aimed to find the effect of cognitive styles on the narrative by analyze the structure of narrative, the capacity of understand, the creative, sociality and language capacity while reading a picture book.Consequentially, the research found that the children with field-independence cognitive-style behave better than the other children with field-dependence cognitive-style in structure and logic while reading a picture book. Field-dependence children needs more time to finish the narrative, they prefer to integrative thinking, they empathize more than the children with cognitive-style. Compared with these differences, they preformed the same in language capacity.The study find the effect of the cognitive styles in narrative, the conclusion proved that different people affect by the field by different degree. This contribution of this research is to find the effect of the different cognitive-styles on narrative. It is benefit for teacher to teacher children more effective.
