The Shence Army during Tang Dynasty, founded in Mohuanchuan area by Geshu Han in the thirteen year of Tianbao Era and abolished officially in the third year of Tianfu Era, experienced a history of 148 years in total. Through all the years in its course, it remained its uniqueness, namely, an army under the control of the eunuch-group rarely occured in the Chinese history. Overall, the rise and fall of Shence Army and eunuch-group were correlated, therefore, the rise, prosperity, decline and perishment of Shence Army were likely closely associated with the eunuch-group. The present disertation investigated the rise and fall of Shence Army from the perspective of those of the eunuch-group with additional analysis in its garrison and command system.The disertation is divided into four sections, detailed as follows:Part I:Introduction. This part focuses on the significance and academic value of this subject under study, with a proposed method to probe into it based on a review of its overview and current status.Part II:The origin and early structure of the Shence Army. This part deduces the origin and early organization of the Shence Army through an analysis of the early Shence Army. In addition, analysis of Shence Army troops, stationed, fighting ability and comman dsystem.Part III:The eunuch-group and the Shence Army. This part studies the relationship between the eunuch-group and the Shence Army in three stages with a clue of time.The first stage, in Tang Dynasty and the Tang Suzong. This period of the Tang Dynasty from flourishing to decline, but also an important period of the rise of eunuch power. With the rise of eunuch, and eunuchs Shence Jun also by virtue of contact forces, completed the study of the military forces in borders to the military governor's prefecture and then to the central imperial guards in the triple jump, Shence Army forces began to combine with the eunuchs.The second stage, Tang dezong to Tang Xuanzong period. This period appears the Shence-Lieutenant position, marks the Shence Army forces affiliation with the eunuchs a combination of a systematic approach, with greater power also means the development of the eunuchs. In addition, analysis of Shence Army troops, stationed, fighting ability and command system.The third stage, Tang Yi Zong to the Tang Zhaozong period. And strategy for redevelopment of Fifty-four military city activities arethe establishment and made a detailed study, while the era of Tang Zhaozong eunuch power is the issue from the political, economic, military and other aspects of personnel appointment and removal of more in-depth Analysis.Part IV:Conclusion. This part summarizes the points made above with furth discussion in depth.
