Ibsen Different Modes Of Expression Of Individualism,

A lot of researches have been done on Henrik Ibsen and his plays both in China and abroad. From the romanticism drama in his early period, to the realism drama in the middle, and then to the simplistic plays of the final period, scholars and experts focused on his creative methods of the plays, the interpretation of his plays, the creative features of his plays, the influence of his plays on Chinese audience, etc. Based on a thorough analysis on Ibsen studies and his plays, the author of this dissertation found out that a primary line goes throughout all of his works, which is giving out the strong individualism by his works. This dissertation provided a sound and detailed study on Ibsen's idea of individualism illustrated in his works to make clear his unique way of expression of this idea.
