Study On The Urban Culture Of The Li Oufan

As a famous American-Chinese scholar, Leo ou-fan has profoundly and uniquely understanding on the urban culture, and he open up a new world about urban cultural studies. Between these, the city is an important position over these years, and urban cultural is an invisible longitudinal line in his study. This paper is divided into five parts:The preamble is the brief summary of research toward to Leo ou-fan's urban culture's study. On this basis, introduction the purpose of writing paper.The first chapter discusses three key words of Urban Culture: modernity, nostalgia, and intellectuals. The former concerns the modern image about urban culture, the relationship between criticism space and style; The current study has not concentrate on the latter. Here the author discusses his views and put forward my own views.The second chapter mainly discusses the features about Leo ou-fan's urban culture's study. Respectively, the discusses is directed to study object,study style and study method.The third chapter discusses contributions and limitations of Leo ou-fan's study. Currently, most of people pay more attention to contributions than to limitations. The author discusses the contributions and limitations from literature study and culture study.The epilogue discusses that though Leo ou-fan is always wandering in the West and in China, his study plays an important role in the literature and culture field, and brings a profound influence to general scholars at home and abroad. Besides that, the process of urbanization is developing fast, his thought about the urban culture is regarded as an element which can't be denied.
