The Identity Of The New Century Literary Intellectuals Study

The 21st century, the intellectual type novels have attracted readers and the academia field to some extent. These novels such as "Cang Lang Zhi Shui" by Yan Zhen , "Tao Li" by Zhang Zhe , " So-called Professor " by Sheng Shengrong , and with the outbreak in 2008 "Feng Ya Song" by Yan Lianke , " Professor " by Qiu Huadong and " Forgive My Wrongs" by MuRong Xuecun. These novels have raised concerns in the community, while its show the intellectual phenomena, and shape a large number of the image of intellectuals. In particular, these novels also present tendencies of identity of a variety of contemporary intellectual.There are a lot of studies of Intellectuals. From the most basic of "intellectual definition " issue to the mission and basic features of the intellectuals, besides the ultimate value and history of the intellectuals. But studies of Intellectuals from the perspective of identity are not too much, in which the tendency of male identity on the intellectual analysis is extremely rare.From the perspective of the identity, with the theory of identity and modernity, post-modern theory, Consumerism culture theory, close reading and contextual analysis, the author teases out several typical stages of the construction of intellectual identity and some features in the new century literature.This paper is divided into three parts. The first part analyzes mainly several aspects of the current status of intellectuals in contemporary literature. The part draws the outline of the process and the main features of the construction of intellectual identity in Contemporary Literature on the basis of closing readings of the new century intellectual novels.The second part is the core of this paper, and explores several stages of the construction of identity and their own characteristics. There are some important innovations as followed. Firstly, the systematically combing of the intellectual type novels and division to several typical stages of the construction of intellectual identity and some features in the new century literature; Secondly, the part points out the male identity orientation of "intellectuals"; Third is to study the narrative features of the identity of intellectuals in the new century literature.The third part focuses on the influence and role of multi-dimensional Contexts in the process of construction of identity. First is the historical context and spatial context of building intellectual identity; Second, postmodern cultural context and cultural context of consumerism construct the identity of intellectuals; Third, today's academic institutions take part in building the identity of intellectuals.
