This paper is written with the intention of stimulating readers tomake greater sense of the values of Laoshe's novels they have read andwill have in the future. The paper contains three chapters, each havingits own topics and emphases, playing an important pole and not beingseparated from the main body. Chapter 1 provides an analysis of the nov-els' stylistic value, including Laoshe's recognition of the style and the sig-nificance of his novels' language. Chaper 2 presents the aesthetic value ofLaoshe's novels, which has two small parts──the humorous style of hisnovels' and the psychological reasons of the humorous style. The last partconcertrates on the cultaral values of the novels. It brings together thesketch of dayly life and the cultural choice to shed on the novels' value tothe mankind.Many of the reference sources used in this paper contain informationthat apples to many chapters. There are listed as general sources of infor-mation; references that are particularly appropriate to each chapter arelisted separately.Writting about the value of Laoshe's novels has proved a fascinatingand challenging experiences.
