Wang Lixi, little known both in modem Chinese history and modem literary history, isan outstanding poet, essayist, war correspondent and literary researcher as well as a greatpatriot and political activist at home and abroad. In his short but eventful life, neither hispolitical activities nor works rich and extensive have not even now received a thoroughstudy and fair assessment, which is unfair to Mr. Wang himself on the one hand and quitea regret to Chinese literature.
