Chinese American Literature Research - An Outstanding Area Of ​​expansion

With the endless efforts of Chinese American writers, Chinese American literature has experienced evolution for almost 100 years. It has achieved great success. Though it drawing more and more attention from American literary critics, Chinese readers still don know much about it. It is the reason why I have chosen this topic as my thesis. This thesis follows the traces of Chinese American Literature, which includes the voices of early Chinese immigrants and the first Chinese American flctionist Sui Sin Far; seeking a place in American life, the second- generation Chinese Americans and the flowering contemporary Chinese American writings. Through the analysis of several main works by some dominating Chinese American writers as Maxine Hong Kingston and Frank Chin, we might find that contemporary Chinese American writers are de- constructing and re-constructing Chinese American Literature, and creating their new, bright future. From the analysis of Amy Tan novels, readers could see Chinese American writers sense of hinese root and their care about women.
