The up-rising of the modern women liberation movement brought the prosperity of women literature, while the voice of liberation is full of anxiety instead of pleasure. Starting with the modern women problem, the author makes great efforts to reveal the anxiety resulting from recreation under new historical conditions. The recreation refers to the waking-up of women from long silent repression and the rights to be a human emancipated from long traditional bondage. The anxiety refers to the psychological keynote from the recreation. According to the Freud's psychological analysis, anxiety is usually a tense condition related to agony, sorrow and horror, etc. The anxiety of recreation permeates the whole women writing with complicated motive and forms of expression. Here the author plans to discuss the question in four aspects, to reveal the zigzag trail of modern women writing and to seek some reason for hardship in women writing development.1. Introduction-anxiety: mood permeating modem women writingStarting with anxiety, the article defines anxiety psychologically. Anxiety is an ambiguous and nervous experience arising from helplessness when predicting some ominous things or bad results. To modem women, it refers to, in new modem world, and under new historical opportunity, the complicated mood when facing women liberation problem, mixed with desire and horror, happiness and sorrow, hope and disappointment. Origin of Anxiety The causes of anxiety are Various including both historical and special social conditions.(1) The condition under historical background.Women are regarded as an oppressed group in the long history. This will find its origin in history. Since the patriarchy overthrew the matriarchy, women were forced to the background. Under the strict patriarchy society, they were confined to the families, and deprived of the rights participating in social affairs. Even at home, they should follow their father, husband and son, which bound then- flesh and spirit.(2) Bewilderment under times' conditionThe Chinese society at the beginning of the 20th century is one shaking off the old and reforming, and one times finding humans especially women. But women liberation advocated by men elites is related to the people and nation. "Women Liberation" has a strong relationship to "National self-improval and Prosperity". The women were placed on the altar just as the exhibition of the old society. And few people advocated women liberation from sexual point. To the "revolution", the war crisis is approaching, the contents of women liberation becomes more narrow and urgent. They were urged to take part in the "revolution" and enrolled in the army. So "Liberation" became the very reason for women at war with thepurpose of Liberating citizens but not women. While the consciousness of women bom in their minds alarmed them potentially, therefore, the anxiety of women then was extremely tense.3. The thematic manifestation(1) Paradox in "Maternal Love"The first step to recreation is to walk out of family. Under this condition, the traditional mothers influence greatly their daughters. The mothers asked them to follow the old way, be a good wife and mother as accepted by the tradition. But the daughters took a different way from their mothers. They left their mothers and sought a new way, while the inertia crept into their heart, making them back home after "May-Fourth Movement".(2). Love : Utopia puzzling the women. Besides the hinderance of maternal love, love means more to women. When women took "Nara" as an example of fighting from freedom and liberation, they didn't realize they had taken a rough and bumpy road. They called for freedom of love and marriage, left their families, and shook off the burden of an arranged marriage.
