Ling Creation

As one of the most famous Chinese women writers in the 20th century, Ding Ling's literary creation is closely connected with the changes and development of the times. Her early success of The Diary of Ms. Sha Fei, her masterpiece Sunshine on the Sang Can River and some other works some are regarded as the portrayal of her times. This thesis will discuss her creation from the following three aspects:1. The interwining and contradiction of individualism and collectivismThis part discusses the path of Ding Ling's literature creation and her point of view in art creation.2. The publicizing and disappearing of feminismThis part relates that in many of her works Ding Ling probed into the difficult situation and low social position most Chinese women faced, the way to get them liberated, and the publicizing and disappearing of feminism in her works.3. Colourful artistry in her worksThis part reveals Ding Ling's thorough discription of the inner world of different characters in her works, and her outstanding artistry in describing the natural scenery, people's feelings and her unique narrating style.
