Hidden Enlightenment And Modernism Color Quality

This thesis is divided into four parts.Zhang ailing was the most contentious female writer in the history of modern Chinese literature .Although the study about her has been mature in the three main ways:femanism,modernism,enlightenment,there are certain undeveloped fields in the synthetic study.The theme of enlightenment contains two aspects :the first is aboutdeconstructing the feudal moral relation;the second is the complex female ideology which includes examining carefully the Chinese character of female,inspecting the dependent mentality and abandoning the traditional female role.The theme of modernism contains two aspects :the first is about exposing the irrational in the intangible human nature;the second is the pessimism and nihilism.Because of the writer's complex spirit ,the concrete form of enlightenment and modernism are obscure and uncomplete; she forgot surveying the Chinese cultural context in understanding the Chinese character in terms of the human nature and the theme of pessimism obstructs the view of criticizing reality, so the theme of enlightenment appears obscure; she adopted a conciliatory attitude toward the reality, so the theme of modernism appears uncomplete.
