This thesis, aimed at the poetic art of Chu Guangxi, attempts to analyze the artistic achievement of Chu Guangxi from within and without, vertically and horizontally, the celebrated pastoral poet in Tang dynasty. The thesis can be divided into five chapters viewed from three aspects. The Chapter One reviewed the study summary of all dynasties from historical aspects. The Chapter Two explored the writing psychology from psychological aspect, following his four life stages (traveling to and from Wu and Yue, becoming officer promoted from a common people, being inclusive officer, suffering chaos caused by war). This chapter also points out his spirit pathway of balance-breaking up of the balance-new balance-imbalance again, showing up from his poem. Viewed from the aspect of poem's noumenon, Chapter Three, Four, and Five are devoted to lyric art, describing scenery art, language art of his poem. His lyric art is explored according to his dense plebeian consciousness, multi-angled organization of a group poems, and multicolored lyric skills. His describing scenery art is illustrated from the picture of the joggling light and shadow, describing scenery with sound, and the fusion of majesty and exquisiteness. His language art is characterized by a pure and placid style in general, with an emphasis at elaboration on polysemy, and his wonderful application of reduplication.
