The distinctive philosophical thinking and developing orbit of thought was sketched in this thesis by the analysis of the ideological content and artistic form of Bi Feiyu's novels. Compared with the Traditional Realism, the Vanguard Novel and the Novels by newly emerging novelists, Bi Feiyu's novels play an important role in the contemporary literature.Bi Feiyu paid more attention to the thought of the historic nature in his New Historic Novels which originated from the beginning of the 1990's. In the middle of the 1990's Bi Feiyu transformed his vision into the modern metropolitan society. With deep sorrow, he found that it's a futile illusion to rescue people's spirit by throwing oneself into love, indulging oneself into desire or escaping to the countryside. At the end of the 1990's,Bi Feiyu changed his stand again. This time, he began to pay attention to the fate of the ordinary people, he found that it was very difficult for them to master their own destiny. What was granted by the fate was only tremendous injury and boundless hurt. There are two essential periods in Bi feiyu's novels: First, escape form the Vanguard Novel's repercussions; Second, regress to the realism gradually. At the first stage, Bi feiyu's novels not only have the reflection of the Vanguard Novel, but also have the unique character on the harmonious creative pursuit and the unbridled writting pattern. At the second stage, Bi Feiyu was considered as "a realistic writer" for his realistic writing style on the aspect of writing object and version language. In this thesis, the author compared Bi Feiyu with those traditional realistic writers form three aspects: the intimate extent between the writer and the readers; the recognition to the authenticity and typicalness of the details; the similarities and differences about the world outlook. Therefore, the author claims that perhaps it is more suitable to define Bi Feiyu as "Psychological Realism" or "Spontaneous Realism".
