Pubiao, a severely endangered language, is one of the languages in Ge-Yang branch of Kam-Tai language group, and is called "outlier Kam-Tai" by western scholars. To determine its genealogical relationship is of great importance not only in scientific research but also in practical work. This paper, based mainly on theories and approaches of historical comparative linguistics, discusses the relationship between Pubiao and other Ge-Yang languages. To do this work, we make broad phonological correspondences on these languages, compares and contrasts their word constructions and grammar features, counts the cognates ratios of the fundamental words between Pubiao and other languages and finally draws the family tree of the Ge-Yang languages. In this paper, the writer states that Pubiao and Baha are the two closest languages in Outlier Kam-Tai and Lachi is more intimate to Pubiao, Buyang, Laha than to Gelao and Yiren.
